Consult The Classified Ads in the Daily Bruin, The Recycler, the Santa Monica Evening Outlook, and the Los Angeles Times.
Shop At Garage Sales. One of the greatest methods of acquiring cheap useable goods. The University population is typically transient and people in the neighborhood are often getting rid of extra possessions. One man's trash is another's treasure.
Look For Signs posted around campus and the community at the end of the Spring Semester advertising furniture for sale. Don't expect anything glamorous.This kind of furniture is purely functional, and can do until you find something better.
Shop At Flea Markets. Good deals are possible at many local flea markets, where bargaining is still a respected skill. Some of the more popular markets are: Pasadena Rose Bowl, Marina Del Rey, and the Rodium in Gardena.
Stores. Thrift stores sell used clothing, furniture and housewares. Check the Yellow Pages under "Thrift Shops" or "Second Hand Dealers" for a complete list.
